The expected catch depends on the season. Marlin, Dorado and Tuna await those who venture offshore. Wahoo, Amberjack and Yellowtail are common in and around the underwater mounts South of Cervallo Island. Rooster fish and Sierra abound just off the white sand beaches. Cabrilla and Pargo, some as large as 100 pounds, cruise the bountiful reefs less than five minutes from the mouth of the Bay. With Tres Amigos the choices are endless - the decisions left up to you.

Bringing In A Marlin

Highslide JS
Every angler's first encounter with a Striped, Blue or Black Marlin is an unforgettable experience.
Highslide JS
They are cobalt-blue on top and silvery-white below, with a pronounced dorsal fin and a long, lethal spear-shaped upper jaw.
Highslide JS
On light tackle, striped marlin, a common catch for our boats in the summer months, are a thrill to catch. Blue and Black marlin, while less common, grow up to 1000 lbs, require heavier tackle to catch and are often considered to be the trophy of a lifetime.

Once a positive hook-up is made, efficient crew team-work is essential to land the fish.
Highslide JS
Anglers commonly troll natural baits such as mackerel, tuna, and bonito in hopes of enticing one of these giants. Brightly colored lures and teasers are also commonly used.

Striped, Blue and Black Marlin are fabulous sportfish that are best released.

Gigantic Dorado

Highslide JS
The Dolphin, also known as Mahi Mahi or Dorado, is one of the most exciting offshore gamefish to catch and see in the open ocean.

When hooked these fish "light up" with almost neon colors and put up an exciting, high jumping, tail walking fight.

Beautiful Pargo

Highslide JS
The pargo commonly inhabits waters from 30 to 200 ft (10 to 60 m), but can be caught as deep as 300 ft (100 m) or more on occasion. They stay relatively close to the bottom, and inhabit rocky bottom, ledges, and ridges. The pargo in this picture was caught less than five minutes from our mooring only 50 yards off shore. This Pargo is a medium sized fish for our waters where Pargo that exceed 100 lbs are not uncommon.

Exceptional Yellowtail

Highslide JS
Yellowtail are a seasonal catch for us. January through March they are common and often exceed 50 lbs.
